NaNoLandia: Camp NaNoWriMo July ’13 #1

So, July is approaching already. It’s been a long and somewhat stressful month (explaining partly why there’s so few posts in either of my two blogs), and somewhat gloomy part of the time here in St. John’s. But July is the month of Camp NaNoWriMo (the second this year), and I’m rather looking forward to it.

One of the reasons I’m looking forward to it is this time I’m trying something new. Rather than doing a 50K word novel, I’m taking advantage of the Camp allowing us to set our own word count goals, and I’m aiming for 35K words of short stories set in the Psi Dept. universe (Search and Rescue and Lost and Found), starring Ryuu and Brendan. Most of them will take place during the year that happens between SaR and LaF, but there may also end up being a few about their pasts.

Yes, I’m wondering if we’ll finally find out the details of what happened to Brendan on Mirabel (aka why he has such a problem with Psi Dept. security agents), and why Ryuu shudders at the very mention of Killarney (the planet, not the county in Ireland). What do you think?

So, yeah. I plan to keep people better updated this month than in April. And I plan to write a lot more than I did in April. Here’s hoping I feel wide awake and upbeat the first week of July!
